Who We Are
Nasamax Limited ("Nasamax") is incorporated in the Bahamas. The corporation was formed to commercialize and license the Nasamax 'Seed to Wheel' system - the only fully integrated, environmentally friendly system for producing large volumes of bio-ethanol at extremely low cost.
Nasamax plans to expand rapidly by licensing its patented and proprietary technologies to a number of corporations in which it will retain a minority interest.
Nasamax is actively developing projects and licensing arrangements internationally.
The Nasamax 'Seed to Wheel' Ethanol Approach
Nasamax uses a proprietary strain of highly improved sweet sorghum for ethanol production. Unlike corn, sweet sorghum is not a major food crop. Converting it to ethanol does not reduce the availability or increase the price of food supplies for human or livestock consumption. Sweet sorghum plants use less water and absorb more CO2 than any other crop for producing ethanol.
Nasamax carefully selects geographic locations with specific advantageous climatic conditions for plantations on which to grow its crops. In combination with the Nasamax specialized and sophisticated agronomy techniques, these plantations assure multiple harvests throughout the year and extremely high yields per unit of land.
Nasamax ethanol conversion plants are located adjacent to the growing area. This provides a constant supply of feedstock with negligible transportation or storage expense. It also minimizes water consumption and fertilizer cost. In the Nasamax system, waste water, rich with nutrients from the conversion process, is re-used for crop irrigation and fertilization.
Nasamax ethanol conversion plants employ certain proprietary energy conserving technologies which permit them to be powered solely by their own residual by-products. They do not require external energy sources or fuel supplies. This results in considerable cost savings. Since Nasamax energy inputs are renewable, CO2 emissions are eliminated from the process.
Key Statistics
Ethanol Yields: typically 26,000 litres per hectare per annum (2,800 US gallons per acre per annum) or more.
Crop Yields: typically 250 tonnes per hectare per annum. (100 U.S. tons per acre per annum) or more.
Feed Stock Cost per Gal: less than one-half the cost of corn.
Production Costs: Due to the integration of agronomy and production, the use of novel techniques and systems, and the resulting superior yields, Nasamax production costs are the lowest in the industry.
Ethanol CO2 neutrality: Nasamax ethanol is 98% CO2 neutral - more so than any other known ethanol producing process.
Water Conservation: Our proprietary variety of sweet sorghum has the lowest water requirement of any ethanol feedstock. Further, all the waste water from the conversion plant is directed back for re-use in the irrigation system.
Modular Concept: The Nasamax system, which combines highly advanced state-of-the-art agronomy, process and production techniques, can be readily and profitably, scaled in modules of 6,000 to 100,000 hectares in numerous suitable geographical areas around the globe.
