Our Technology
Nasamax technology is focused on new and unique processes for the production of fuel ethanol from sorghum.
In addition to its proprietary cultivation and agronomy methods that delivery unprecedented yields, Nasamax’s innovative pre-processing method for treating and reducing the size of fresh feedstock facilitates further optimization of the ethanol conversion process.
Specially designed membranes are used for sugar concentration to significantly reduce energy requirements in the distillation process. Process reagents are carefully formulated to provide both ethanol conversion efficiency, and to facilitate re-use as fertilizers for the plantation.
By-products from the conversion process - spent baggase, lignin, and silage are used as fuel for the plantation power plant. The Nasamax approach to reusing these byproducts and therefore reducing carbon dioxide emissions, also makes sound economic sense. Being completely energy self sufficient virtually eliminates a major cost of ethanol production, and insulates Nasamax from the price volatility of outside energy and fuel markets.
All Nasamax innovations have patents or patents pending.
